I spent Mother's Day as I always do -- at home in South Carolina. Recently, my mom turned 90 years old and when I think about that and how blessed me and my siblings are to have her still around made Mother's Day so much more special.
Mom's are usually the first people we meet and for much of our lives growing up are whom we spend most of our time. As we grow older, our mother's have a special place in our hearts, further illustrating that unexplained connection every mother has to her child.
What I enjoy about Mother's Day is that we all have an opportunity to reflect upon all the beauty and love that comes from moms across the country and the world. The countless sacrifice they all make for the sake of their child. It truly is an extraordinary thing.
